Milk Teeth -Facts Every Parent Should Know!
Baby teeth or milk teeth serve an important role in our life even though they will fall off eventually.
They help a child to eat and speak in the initial years of life.
Milk teeth also can develop cavities. A common condition called nursing bottle decay occurs in babies.
Cavities in milk teeth can affect the growth of adult teeth. Hence, they need proper care.
The right time to start brushing your baby’s teeth is when they get their first tooth. It is also the right time for your child’s first dental visit. The dentist will examine your child’s teeth and predict, prevent and treat if any dental problems are present at an early stage. The dentist will also talk to you about dietary and oral hygiene instructions for your child to follow right from the start.
If your child has gaps between their milk teeth, there is nothing to worry. It is in fact a good sign; these gaps give more space for adult teeth to erupt.
Teething stars around 6 months and they get all their milk teeth by two or three years of age.
